Since I began using it, I have developed a love for plotly and Dash. I do have some minor criticisms (such as I'd love it if the generated figures were a bit lighter in size) but for the most part I find them incredibly capable.

The biggest challenge I have is the documentation. The docs for both products are ok, but far from comprehensive. There are a lot of examples and code snippets, but it requires a lot of hunting around to put everything together. I spent a lot of time on the product doc, the community pages, youtube and stackoverflow among others to put together what I thought I needed. I then spent a lot of time with little sandboxes to test out ideas and explore what could and couldn't be done with the code.

In short, it wasn't a straightforward process. The pieces were there and man are there a lot of pieces to play with. However, there is no "From beginner to Master" type guide out there. It's just powering through.

That why I tend to write a lot about the subject both in this piece as well as a few others I've published through TDS. If I can create some useful snippet of a walkthrough on something that took me a lot time to learn, and it can save someone else a bit of time, then it's all good.

Can't wait to hear how you did with your own app!
